Who Qualifies For The Bursary Or Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application process.

Applications at the moment are open and will close on 15 December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should fulfill the subsequent requirements:

• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who originates from a home having a combined gross house earnings that doesn't exceed R350 000 for each annum.

• Individuals with disabilities qualify if their combined residence income will not exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and wish not submit any evidence of earnings.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent inhabitants from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 per annum.

Applicants are reminded to provide the correct Id Document numbers, names, and surname, as reflected of their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds people who are finding out or intend to study in a general public university or TVET nsfas 2025 college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
